During my recent trek to Deorital-Chandrashila I was able to capture(though not fully) a beautiful Monal Bird on my way to Chandrashila peak.
The Monal bird, also known as the Himalayan Monal (Lophophorus impejanus), is a beautiful and vividly colored pheasant native to the Himalayan mountains. It holds ecological, cultural, and symbolic significance in the region. The bird prefers alpine meadows, forests, and shrublands between 2,100–4,500 meters altitude and you can easily spot it if you are trekking to Tungnath in the spring season. In Buddhist and Hindu symbolism, it represents divine beauty and dignity.
