1. Deekshabhoomi
Deekshabhoomi is the place where the Dr Ambedkar, the Father of Indian Constitution converted to Buddhism on 14th October 1956 along with around 40,000 of his followers. The form of Buddhism to which Dr Ambedkar converted came to be known as Navyana Buddhism. The place is a must visit for its serenity, and history.


2. Ambazaari Lake
One good thing about the city of Nagpur is that there are many lakes in the city providing adequate water supply to the residents. Ambazari lake being the biggest one in the city supplies water to all the important government offices. The lake is a man made lake built in 1870s during the Bhoslae Rule. It is also the origin of the Nag River. The best time to visit the lake is during the evening. One can see a beautiful sunset in the lake in the evening.

3. Narrow Gauge Museum
Nagpur Division of South East Central Railway(SECR) once had the unique distinction of maintaining the largest Narrow Gauge Railway system in Indian Railways. However due to standardisation policy adopted by Indian Railways most of these gauges have now been converted to Broad. To preserve the history of Narrow gauge railway in India this museum has been built. The museum has many artefacts on old railways heritage. The revolving restaurant built here is its unique attraction. This is also a good place to take your children who can enjoy the toy train in the museum.


4. Seminary Hills
Perhaps the most interesting place in the city of Nagpur is the Seminary Hills. The place is a hilltop in the city having a dense forest. There is a toy train line in the garden which is not functional at present. The place is good for walking, Jogging and other morning activities. The pace also gives a good view of the city from the top.


5. Zero Miles Milestone
Zero Mile is a landmark built by Britishers during the Great Trigonometrical Survey of India. The survey was aimed at measuring the entire land of Indian Subcontinent with precision. Although by the meaning of the term this monument represents the centre on India, However this is not so.
6. Other Places of Interest
Apart from the above 5 places there are many other places to visit in Nagpur. RSS headquarter is located in Nagpur where one can see the history of RSS. However the place is normally not open to visitors. Futala Lake is an important scenic point.
